Morgan County Historical Society

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

This notice explains how the Morgan County Historical Society (MCH) handles information through mchistorical.com, including Heritage Hall inquiries.

Information You Send Us

The contact forms on our homepage and Contact page ask for your name, email address, and message. The Event Rentals form also asks for an event type and preferred date or timeframe. You may provide a phone number, alternate date, estimated guest count, and other details about your event.

We use these details to answer questions, discuss visits or rentals, and follow up on your request. Please do not send payment-card details, identification documents, medical information, or other sensitive records through these forms. An inquiry is not a confirmed reservation or payment.

Email and Launch Monitoring

Inquiries are emailed to info@mchistorical.com. Your email address is used as the reply address so MCH can respond directly. The website’s inquiry handlers do not save submissions in the WordPress database; messages are handled in email.

For the 30-day launch monitoring period, inquiry emails are also copied privately to Matthew Vaughters at Big Mountain Computers, our website design and hosting provider, to help verify delivery and resolve website issues. New copies stop automatically 30 days after monitoring is activated. The end of monitoring does not delete messages already received.

Authorized MCH staff and the service providers involved in hosting, security, and email delivery may process information as needed to provide those services. Email correspondence, hosting logs, and backups are separate from the website’s form handling. This notice does not promise a fixed deletion period for those records. Contact MCH with questions about a particular message or a deletion request.

Website Security

Our inquiry forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to help block automated abuse. The security check connects your browser to Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as your IP address and browser or device signals. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy, including its Turnstile addendum. If the check prevents you from contacting us, email MCH directly.

Website hosting and security systems may record technical information, including IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps, and browser information, for operation, troubleshooting, and protection against misuse. We use HTTPS, but no website or email service can guarantee absolute security.

Google Maps and External Links

The Google map on our Visit page loads only when you choose to load it. Doing so connects your browser to Google and may allow Google to process information about your visit or use cookies under Google’s Privacy Policy.

Directions, Google Reviews, and social-media links take you to other services. Their privacy practices apply when you use them. MCH does not currently load a Google review feed or run online payment processing or newsletter enrollment on this website.

Cookies and Staff Accounts

You do not need a website account to browse or send an inquiry. WordPress uses cookies for authorized staff sign-in and account or interface preferences. Blocking these cookies may prevent staff features from working. Third-party services described above may process their own technical information when loaded. The current site does not include advertising trackers or a marketing analytics integration.

Authorized staff tools retain website edits and Client Review submissions, including associated staff account details, for content management and follow-up. These are separate from public inquiry forms and are not published as visitor comments.

Your Questions and Choices

You can email MCH instead of using a form, choose not to load Google Maps, and manage cookies through your browser. To ask about information you provided, request a correction or deletion, or raise a privacy concern, contact info@mchistorical.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request and will explain any information that must be retained.

We will update this page when website practices change and revise the date above.
